Interactive exchange will be the focus of the physically held OFF-GRID Expo + Conference. Interactive activities such as speeddating facilitate access to the off-grid community. Colleges and universities showcase their activities on the Education Mile. The Off-Grid Challenge will select bachelor and master students to present their thesis in a pitch.
The OFF-GRID Sale also offers the opportunity to purchase reduced products for a good cause. Small, functional modules are offered at a special price in the campaign area. The proceeds of 2500 € were donated to VET4Africa in 2023. This donation will help to train more PV teachers, who in turn will act as African multipliers in the field of renewable energies and photovoltaics in their country and thus contribute to sustainable development through education.
Networking offers the opportunity to make new contacts, exchange ideas with experts and search specifically for suitable business partners.
Students from the environmental technology and renewable energy department of the Höchstädt Technical College and VET4Africa e.V. trainers assembled solar cases in various sizes, which could then be purchased by interested trade fair visitors in aid of the VET4Africa association. Dr David Wekesa from Kenya, who had already completed the PV1 and PV2 courses of the Vet4Africa training program and has since been able to establish his own chair for environmental technology in Nairobi, was also present.
In addition, various PV products were sold at the OFF-GRID Sale with the support of Phaesun and also contributed to the total proceeds. The campaign generated total proceeds of €2,500 for the VET4Africa e.V. association.
